Frequently Asked Questions
How does psychotherapy work?
Therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space for you to talk about things that are upsetting, hurtful, overwhelming, or stressful in your life. Common issues include anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions. I will work with you to develop a plan to address life's challenges and learn healthier ways to cope. You are an equal partner in the therapy process.
How many sessions do I need?
This depends on the individual and the issues they are working on. An average course of therapy is generally 12 to 35+ sessions. The length of treatment depends on what is bringing you in to therapy as well as your general mental health prior to therapy. During our initial evaluation appointment, I will discuss your history and goals to better assess an accurate course of treatment.
